I'm Mrs. Holsclaw, and I'm your Sixth Grade ELA teacher. I am so looking forward to getting to know you throughout this year. Here is a little about myself...
I live in Grand Rapids with my husband and our two sons: Judah and Ezra, with one more baby boy on the way! I was born and raised in West Michigan, attending Grand Valley State University for college. I studied English and French for Secondary Education, and I even had the opportunity to study in France for half a year. Teaching is my passion, and I am so happy to be spending my 7th year in the classroom with you! While my adventures tend to be closer to home these days, I love all things outdoors! As a family, we try to spend as much time hiking, fishing, and camping as possible. A huge focus of this last year has been building up our garden and training our Beagle puppy, Flannery. I also spend much of my free time reading and writing-- surprise! I love all sorts of genres, but most of my time is spent on fiction: classic, historical, or fantasy. I've recently developed a love for poetry. I also collect old books. I geek out regularly about things like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and the Marvel Universe. I function much better after I've had my coffee or tea. I'm a dog person but, ironically, own two cats. I'm weirdly obsessed with cacti and opossums. But, enough about me... I'm ready to get to know you! I can't wait to spend this year learning and growing together. |
